The Fresh Cut

The year 2020 was a difficult year for businesses all over the United States. The emergence of COVID-19 and the subsequent social distancing protocol led to mass cancellations of weddings, celebrations, and gatherings of all kinds. As you can imagine, this put a strain on flower farms all across the nation as the demand for fresh cut flowers withered under the weight of the global pandemic.

At Florage, we chose to try and see these difficulties as opportunities. Our customers, florists, farmers, and friends banded together, collaborating and caring for one another, and for the essential workers in our communities, in the face of unprecedented challenges. Ingenuity surged to life as we learned new and unique ways to operate within the confines of a strained market. We used technology to safely communicate with customers, and conducted our business from a distance, often leaving our precious blooms on doorsteps with only a masked smile and a wave from six-feet away.

Needless to say, we are looking forward to the 2021 growing season with mega-hype and enthusiasm. We could all use a fresh start, or, as we call it at Florage, a fresh cut.

That’s why we’re thrilled to announce the launce of the Florage Farms Blog: The Fresh Cut.

The Fresh Cut is an online journal documenting all the adventures, fun, and flowers at Florage Farms. We hope you’ll join us on our mostly spectacular, occasionally bizarre journey through the world of flowers and farm life, complete with: sunshine, beautiful blooms, mountain views, naughty dogs, dumb sheep, cows and chickens, cheap beer, positive vibes, good music, and better friends.
